Scuba Diving & Snorkelling Trips

Kalpitiya is only a 30 – 50 minute boat ride away from Bar Reef, Sri Lanka’s largest living coral reef (307 sqm) home to a huge variety of reef fish (283 to be exact) and the occasional siting of manta rays, reef sharks and sea turtles.

The best time for dives is late November to early May with around 40 minutes of dive time and 10-25 metres visibility and depth of around 20 metres. Snorkelling season is a little earlier and best to experience between early November and mid-April.

Kalpitiya has PADI Professional, Multi-lingual instructors ready to guide you safely around the reef. To rent diving gear with a buddy, you’re looking at spending around $70 per dive.
